In this region, the OMI JPIC effort works to protect the rights of immigrants and migrant laborers. We also support the rights of indigenous peoples, promote corporate social responsibility, engage in faith-based community organizing, fight to abolish the death penalty, and more.

We work in this region to promote peace, indigenous people’s rights, and help protect the region’s poor from the effects of climate change. Countries in which the Oblate JPIC office is active include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.
In Africa, OMI JPIC work includes responding to the HIV/AIDs pandemic and working toward the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. We are particularly active on issues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
